Nek-aan-nek races bij Rabobank Slagwerkfestival
Elburg – Op 14 juni vond in het Multifunctioneel Centrum ’t Huiken het Rabobank Slagwerkfestival plaats. Tijdens dit festival namen diverse ensembles uit heel Nederland deel aan een groots opgezet festival waarin muziek en theater de boventoon voerden. Tijdens deze dag wist Slagwerkgroep ‘’Excelsior’’ uit Oostendorp de dagzege te behalen.
Het juryteam van deze dag was enorm enthousiast over de opzet en structuur van het festival. Mike Schaperclaus, onder andere bekend door zijn optreden als percussioninst tijdens de shows van Paul de Leeuw, was verbluft door de geweldige kwaliteit van alle optredens. Daarnaast was Marten van der Wal (dirigent, arrangeur & graveur) aanwezig als jurylid die de muziek beoordeelde. Naast deze vakjury was er een uit vioer pesonen bestaande publieksjury aanwezig om de entertainment waarde te beoordelen.
Basisklasse
Om 10.00 ’s morgens startte het festival met de basisklasse. In deze klasse namen veel nieuwe ensembles deel. Zij lieten zeer afwisselende spectaculaire optredens zien. Met name het jeugd-ensemble Liemers Harmonie uit Duiven bewees dat jonge kinderen tot grote prestaties in staat zijn. Ook Malletband Concordia Oldebroek en Slagwerkensemble Excelsior Westenholte verkregen veel lof van zowel publiek en jury. Winnaar werd het ensemble uit Duiven wat met name met Sushi-Bah de zaal plat speelde.
Middenklasse
In de middenklasse waren wederom veel nieuwkomers. De ensembles van KAMV Amersfoort, Slagwerkgroep Excelsior Oostendorp (B-ensemble) en Juliana Doornspijk waren in deze klasse de winnaars. Bij KAMV Amersfoort was het creativiteitsgehalte enorm. Met een fantastische show genaamd ‘Africa’ wisten zij in hun klasse te vinden. Excelsior Oostendorp liet met een heuse piratenshow zien dat zij alle mogelijkheden van een slagwerkensemble beheersen. Juliana Doornspijk was vertegenwoordigd met een koor van 35 personen. Deze combinatie wist een goed gevulde zaal volledig stil te krijgen, gevolgd door een daverend applaus.
Topklasse
In de topklasse wist de A-Slagwerkgroep van Excelsior Oostendorp te winnen. Met hun uitvoering van El-Gee en de Atlantis Sage wisten zij veel bezoekers diep te raken.
Slagwerkensemble Elspeet had met diverse externe muzikanten een gevarieerde show samengesteld. Het programma omvatte samenwerking met een panfluitist, elektrische gitaar en een complete koperblazers sectie. Als derde eindigde het enorme percussie ensemble van de Vrienzenveense Harmonie.
Excelsior Oostendorp grote winnaar
De uiteindelijke dagzege werd gewonnen door de A-slagwerkgroep van Excelsior Oostendorp. De publieksprijs werd ook gewonnen door Excelsior Oostendorp. Kortom: ‘Excelsior Oostendorp mag zich de grote winnaar noemen van Het Rabobank Slagwerkfestival 2014.
Volgende week hoopt het Noord-Veluws Muziekverband opnieuw een festival te organiseren. Dit keer zullen de blaasorkesten zich presenteren.
